"Kindness and compassion is a
significant element of Oncology Massage"
Barb Petricone, LMT
Oncology/Serious Illness
I became interested in launching a hospital-based massage therapy program in 2003 when my sister was diagnosed with cancer in late December of 2002. After witnessing the positive effects while providing massage therapy and energy work for her, I felt other cancer patients might benefit as well. In 2005 my mother had a recurrence of cancer and I was able to give her great relief from the discomforts of her cancer treatments and the advancement of the disease.
Selected modalities and customized techniques are integrated for the client/patient going through their specific cancer treatments either in a hospital setting or my private practice in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. These techniques are carefully chosen to help with the physical and emotional distress of the illness and side effects of the treatments. These modalities and techniques can also be utilized for the elderly and adapted for people with medically complex conditions.
The highest infection prevention and controls are in place for clients/patients and massage therapists. We are open to special requests and will do our best to accommodate. Please contact me for specifics, click here.
